We all know how good it can feel to buy something new. Whether you’re after a ‘pick-me-up’, an indulgent treat or if you’re finally cashing out that savings pot – there’s a reason they call it retail therapy.

From a fashion perspective, expressing yourself through the clothes you wear can feel highly liberating. However, when reflecting on the way I’d been buying clothes, I realised it wasn’t actually liberating at all. I was in a constant cycle trying to keep up with new trends and go-to products. And the truth is – it’s exhausting! I realised it was time to step off the hamster wheel and learn to embrace the notion of slow fashion.

Investing in self-care

Like many, I have been trying my best to find some positives during this challenging time. We are all battling with uncertainty and have no idea how long the apocalyptic state will last. As someone who has struggled with anxiety for years, one of my coping mechanisms has always been to focus on what I can control, rather than what I can’t. And this has forced me to think about things I would like to turn my attention to during this turbulent time.

As as self-professed ‘busy bee’, I can often neglect self-care and let the ‘me time’ sink towards the bottom of my priorities list. So I’ve used this time to reignite those feel good rituals and I thought I’d share a few of my favourites with you.
